I've had some interesting phone calls lately that have blessed me beyond words.
The first came from a pastor in South Carolina who had gone to considerable trouble tracing me down. He asked if I had preached
a message called "The Price that was Paid for our Souls" in a church in Hazard, KY many
years ago. I replied that I had been in that church and had preached that message there. He proceeded to tell me that he and
two other teenaged boys gave their lives to Christ as a result of that message and had never forgotten what an impact it had
their lives. All three are now in the ministry. The three young men heard that message in May of 1975 - 38 years ago and it
was still impacting their lives.
Just before that call I received a call from another man who gave his life to
Christ when I preached the same message in Newport, TN in 1981. He has asked his pastor to invite me to preach the message
on Easter Sunday in just a few days from now.
What a blessing to know that the message of the Cross never loses
it's power! If I had but one message to preach it would be that message, describing the suffering of our Lord as He paid the
price for our salvation.
I have posted the message on this website on the audio message page.
1
Corinthians 1:18 "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but
to us who are being saved it is the power of God."
Praise God, the Cross
never loses it's power!
Keep praying and I'll keep preaching the message of the Cross.
