encouraging words for God's People

May 24, 2015

“Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?  For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

It has been said that becoming a Christian is optional, but after we become Christians we have no options, we are to obey. Most church members are strangely ignorant of that fact. We go on living as though we were our own and had paid for our own redemption, but we are not owners of anything. We are stewards of everything we are and have and, it is required of stewards that they be faithful. It is required of servants that they serve. It is required of soldiers that they obey and according to Scripture every Christian is a steward, a servant and a soldier.

We have no right to anything. We are bought and paid for by the blood of Jesus Christ. We are His property. It is not for us to choose what we shall give or withhold; what we shall obey or ignore.  We belong to Him and He and He alone has the say-so.

What a long way we are from realizing this on the average Sunday morning when we have to be begged and besought to give God a tip. To withhold one thing is theft, for everything belongs to Him.

Keep Praying!

"if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 15 "Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place." 2 Chronicles 7:14-15
