Looking up"Therefore I will look to the LORD; I will wait for the God of my
salvation; My God will hear me." Micah 7:7 In the preceeding
verses of Micah 7 you discover that the prophet is living in some very evil times. Micah could find no good man around him;
men in authority were working together to do evil. He certainly could not put confidence in people, especially the nation's
leaders, but not even in the religious leaders. In this situation,
where does one look? Micah looked to the Lord! When one looks at the world around and feels a holy disgust and distrust, the
right place to look is to the world above. Tired of everything else, Micah thirsts for the living God in a dry and thirsty
land where no water is. When we grow sick of earth and all it has to offer,
we are in good shape to look up. As one saint has said, "We must get into us more of that which is above us or we
shall give way to that which is around us." Good advice.....look
up! He's still on His throne!
